A little bit about me.
I've made my home base in the DC metro area. My journey into a career in tech began with a degree in Economics, where I learned to use statistical tools such as SAS for data analysis. After college, I fell in love with photography and design. I spent several years running a photography business and working as a commercial product photographer. During this time I began learning to use web development tools to create my own website and online portfolio.
I quickly learned that my eye for design and my passion for a creative life merged perfectly with my newfound interest in learning to code. I've made a full switch to front-end development, where I enjoy using my creativity and technical expertise to write clean elegant code. I pride myself on being a lifelong learner, and I am currently working toward completion of a degree in Computer Science to ensure that my experience and knowledge is well rounded.
My focus is writing clean, well-formatted, semantic HTML5 by hand to make sure that the content is easy to read, easy to collaborate, trouble-shoot and accessible.
I pride myself on writing CSS that is easy to read and build on. I focus on keeping my CSS lean and fast to load, and I make it a habit to stay up to date on current best practices.
